Tobacco use:
use of any nicotine-containing product
Nicotine:
colorless, odorless, drug in tobacco that stimulates the central nervous system and is highly addictive
Nicotine causes tolerance, physical addiction, psychological addiction, and withdrawal symptoms.
Carbon monoxide:
odorless, colorless, tasteless poisonous gas
Stroke:
harmful effect to blood vessel caused by smoking, a condition caused by a blocked or broken blood vessel to the brain
Cilia:
hairlike structures in air passages that trap dust and other particles
Asthma:
bronchial tubes constrict making breathing difficult
Emphysema:
air sacs in the lung loose their ability to function
Chronic bronchitis:
too much mucus is in the bronchial tubes, swelling of the bronchial tubes

smoke that enters the air as exhaled smoke

smoke that enters the air from a burning cigarette, cigar, or pipe

substance that causes cancer
